Skiing: I learned to ski rather late in life at the age of about 20, considering that I think I did pretty well. Marlene and I learned to ski together on an indoor artificial slope in Calshot England - before we went skiing for the first time for a week in Sol, Austria. We had fun and over the next few years went to the purpose built ski resorts of Avoriaz and Flaine in the French Alps. We also tried a very interesting trip to Bulgaria while it was still well behind the iron curtain (and the times too...) Traveling frequently to the USA while I still lived in England I skied briefly in Oregon on Mount Batchelor, Mount Hood Meadows and once in June at Timberline at Mount Hood, OR. After we moved to Arizona we skied often at Snow Bowl near Flagstaff, AZ and Sunrise in the White Mountains, AZ. More recently we have skied annually at Big Bear in the San Bernardino Mountains, CA with the kids and another family and I have done several brief ski trips to Telluride, CO for some serious skiing with a friend! At Telluride's "Arizona Days 2004" I won a Bronze medal in the men's Slalom. At Telluride's "Arizona Days 2005" I won a Silver medal in the mens' Slalom. I missed 2006 but want to go back and win a gold medal some time... dream on...
