Camping: Here camping means Car Camping as opposed to Backpacking that has its own page. We have quite a bit of camping gear including a 1 man, 2 man, 3 man & 4-6 man easy-up tent and a folding shelter and a tent style awning. These would be good for rain but in Arizona are most useful for providing campground shade. We have a dual burner stove with a griddle, pots & pans, pop-up trash cans and a regular & North Star (bright) Coleman gas lanterns as well as air mattresses and inflation pumps. Otherwise the rest of the equipment is pretty common with Backpacking. Of course we do take along wood to make for a really nice campfire. I often pre-prep most of the food since we can keep it on ice in a big cooler - makes camp prep woek much easier. Recently we've been doing more backpacking than camping but usually did do about one campout per year. Once we rented a trailer tent to try that out. This was mainly a ploy to get Marlene to camp with us - her answer was "it still looks like a tent and is cold & noisy like a tent" - so much for that one! Recent campouts have included: Oak Creek Canyon near Sedona, AZ Kehl Springs on top of the Mogollon Rim, AZ Dead Horse State Park, Prescott, AZ Apache Tears Mine, Superior, AZ BSA Camp Geronimo Nr Payson, AZ Estrella Park, Phoenix, AZ Crown Farm, Tempe, AZ Clifton, AZ Superstition Mountains, AZ Mesquite Wash (Beeline Highway), AZ Hyde Memorial State Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico Philmont Base Camp, Cimmaron, New Mexico Picacho Peak, AZ Colorado River Fishers Landing, Yuma Keet Seel, Navajo Nation, AZ Klondike Derby Greer, AZ Peppersauce Cave, Oracle, AZ Mount Lemmon, AZ Chiricahua Mountains, AZ Lava Tube, Flagstaff, AZ Lockett Meadow, Flagstaff, AZ Black Canyon Colorado River, Az
